REV is excited to announce that David Morris, of the Institute for Local Self-Reliance, will be this year's keynote speaker.
The Utne Reader describes David Morris as "a modern day Benjamin Franklin". Bill Moyers calls him "one of the most innovative thinkers in the country". Vice President of the Institute for Local Self-Reliance, David is the author of four books, including Self-Reliant Cities and Be Your Own Power Company. His recent report, Driving Our Way to Energy Independence, argues for an electric-alcohol powered transportation system.
David's columns have appeared in over 100 newspapers and magazines, including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Journal of Commerce and the Washington Post. He appears regularly on t.v. and radio, including The O'Reilly Factor, CNN Financial News and National Public Radio.
David has been an advisor or consultant to the energy agencies of four Presidents: Ford, Carter, Clinton and George W. Bush. He has also offered strategic advice to companies as large as IBM and Syngenta and as small as microbreweries and neighborhood development corporations.
REV has estimated that the total CO2 emissions resulting from attendee travel and hotel energy use to be 15 short tons of CO2, and thus we have acquired CO2 off-sets equal to that from Native Energy. |
